To wrap up this beautiful day of love, I can't help but write about the one I love. It's easy to look at valentines day and think "ehh, that's just a hallmark holiday" (which I would have to agree) however, this year I was really excited to celebrate, not just some hallmark holiday, but celebrate our love! I must say that every day is valentines day in our home, but this V-Day, my man made very special for me! What made today special was all of our spur of the moment plans. We woke up, ate heart shaped waffles, booked ourselves a day-of apt for a couples massage, he waited in the car while I went tanning, we kissed at Qdoba and got our meals B.O.G.O, ran out of there to catch the 2pm showing of Endless Love, came home to freshen up for the evening, then hit up Portage Central's snowcoming basketball game/activities! What I enjoyed, is that we didn't have to have a crazy cool plan, get each other expensive gifts, and break the bank....we got a fun-filled day of quality time! Which is everything I needed!

Let me boast a little about my Hayden. He is the most humble, hard working, loyal, encouraging, life-giving, entertaining, understanding, loving, hilarious, confident, strong, intelligent (the list could go on for days...) man I know! When I was single and praying for my future husband...there were specific things I prayed about. That he loved God, was spirit-filled, that his family would take me in as if I were their own, that he would love kids, that he would be the male version of me and I the female version of him, that we would be best friends before we even thought of dating was ever even an option, that he would make me laugh, that he would be 6ft - 6'2" in height, that he would have nice teeth and a great smile, that he would be athletic and love sports, that he would have strong hands and nice feet (some of these are silly things to ask for - but hey, when you ask for specific things, you get specific results!) Now looking back, it's so crazy to see the way the Lord has knit this relationship together. Every detail on that list of what I wanted in my husband has been met...PLUS more! It's funny because growing up, I always heard that "opposites attract" but when Hayden and I began dating, I was convinced that was a false statement because of how truly similar we are...ha ha! (I mean c'mon our middle names are the masculine/feminine versions of the same name! Talk about being the male/female versions of each other!) However, I must say that throughout the time we've been married I've began to see parts of our personalities and who we are that are, in fact, different...shocker - I know! But the best part about that is God knew exactly what our strengths and weaknesses, individually, would be...but together - we are able to sharpen one another, call each other up to a higher standard, and encourage one another as we journey through this life together. Until being married, I had never seen Christ's love for the church (His bride) modeled in such a tangible way. There is nothing better than having a husband that, not only shows you his love for you, but also carries himself in such a way that you can feel the Father's love through him. I can't help but be excited for all that God has in store for us in the years to come!

Hayden,
You're my favorite! Thank you for being the most supportive, loving and encouraging husband a girl could have! You inspire me every day to be the best "me" that I can be. Thank you for all the times you've listened to my rambling, wiped the tears off my cheeks, served me with a willing heart, made me laugh, kept me warm, watched "my shows", scrapped snow off my car and cooked dinner for me! I can't help but be excited for the days (that are still very much so in the future!!) when we have little babes running around in Jordan's & flat bills, dresses & accessories, because I have no doubt that you will be the best dad in the entire world! You are full of so much love, and lead by great example! Know that I am so incredibly proud of you and would not trade any of the time I've had with you! I am your biggest fan and I count it a true honor to be your 'helper suitable'. I love you more, now, than the day we met! Here's to growing old and crazy together!

Always & Forever,
Me

I've Got That Favor

Today marked the 1st day & beginning of BIRTHDAY MONTH!!!  (Ok, let's be real...since I was born on the 5th....birthday "month" only lasts 5 days..haha) & I've already been so blessed! This morning, a friend blessed me with an hour long massage. Then shortly after coming home, Hayden brought a package in with the mail, from my sweet neighbor & friend. Inside, I found a pair of LuLaRoe leggings I've been wanting and have had my eye on for months - just wasn't at a place, financially, to indulge! "Gifts" is one of my dominant love languages. I love both giving & receiving gifts. I used to feel weird and uncomfortable about the receiving part of that. As I've gotten older, I've realized that often times gifts can communicate things on a deeper level than materialism. Gifts, to me, are an outward expression of something happening inwardly. When someone gives me a gift, whether it was purchased, hand-made, or something so simple ...

'Cuz It's Now Or Never

Just over a week ago, I was on the beach, with a wonderful group of ladies from our church, wrapping up an incredible weekend in Long Beach for the Propel women's conference. As we sat under the warm sun, sand in between our toes, and the ocean breeze blowing through our hair, we began discussing what name(s) other's have labeled us with that we've unintentionally bought into then began comparing them to the name(s) the Lord calls us that - we need to begin walking in and owning for ourselves. I can't exactly pinpoint what moment it began, but over that weekend I realized at some point this summer, I had bought into an opposing narrative about my worth. Sure, I knew God will always lavish His time, resources, and love on me, but I didn't feel worthy of receiving that from people (even though most of the time that's the exact vessel God uses to love on me). I bought into the lies that I'm not good enough, smart enough, disciplined enough, old enough, educated...

You can take THAT to the bank!

Hello wonderful people! Seeing as how this is my first blog post - I wasn't really sure how to start it out. I first thought of writing a somewhat obligatory "hi my name is Lindzi, and this is who I am" type of post so you, as a reader, could know who it is exactly that you're reading about! However...I decided to forgo that idea. Why? I'm glad you asked... ;) I naturally would assume that if you're reading this, then you most likely already know me (which would result in quite the let-down, reading a whole first blog post that drags on about my life that you're fully aware and informed of). On the flip side, if my assumption is false, and you in fact do not know me but just so happened to stumbled upon this blog, my hope is that you will be able to "get to know me" (in a sense) as I share all about the different seasons of my life. :)  Last year, I felt like the Lord put it on my heart to start a blog. Somewhere to jot down my thoughts, re...
